Nomination Committee
A nomination committee in a housing cooperative (bostadsrättsförening) is important for finding good people for different roles in the association. This is crucial for the association to function well and to make decisions that benefit everyone.
The nomination committee’s task is to propose a board and candidates for various roles within the association. The priority is always what is best for the association, and to find individuals with the right skills who can work together to manage and develop the association.
The nomination committee works on behalf of the association’s general meeting, not on behalf of the board. However, the board can tip off the nomination committee when new members move in, so the committee can meet them and learn what skills and experience exist within the association. The nomination committee should also take part in activities we arrange in the association, to have the opportunity to meet and speak with as many residents as possible.
Members of the nomination committee are elected each year by the general meeting.
