Regarding our collective supplementary insurance

We hope you're all doing well and enjoying your homes here in our association. We want to take this opportunity to inform you about a decision made by the association's board to terminate our collective supplementary insurance covering your condominiums, effective January 1, 2024.

This decision has been made considering several factors, primarily the financial costs we risk facing due to the association’s insurance premium and deductible, as well as the increased complexity regarding damages to individual condominiums. Many parties are involved in a claim, including the member, insurance company, and the board. Currently, the board is in the process of procuring new property insurance, and we have more companies to compare and choose from after discontinuing the collective supplementary insurance. In addition to the aforementioned factors, a condominium supplement to your private home insurance often provides better coverage for the value of the equipment you choose to install in your home. (Especially if you have chosen to invest in very standard-enhancing ones.)

It is therefore highly recommended for each condominium owner to, in addition to their private home insurance, also take out a condominium supplement to protect their own belongings and their condominium. For more information on condominium supplements, please contact your insurance company where you currently have your private home insurance.

We understand that the association’s collective supplementary insurance has been an important part of our collective security, and we want to assure you that our decision has not been taken lightly. However, we are confident that this decision will benefit both the residents and the association in the long run.

If you have any questions or concerns about this decision, we are more than happy to address them.

The Board
